How do you know when your baby is tired?
When they start…
- blinking more
- rubbing their eyes
- getting fussy
- yawning
- glazing over
Those are signs that they are tired and ready for bed.
I’d see this happen on the changing table right before bed with my kids. If we delayed our bedtime routine too far past this point, my kids would get a second wind and not go to sleep.
So, it will take some careful observation to see when they start to show signs of getting tired – day after day – and then schedule their bedtime routine so that they start displaying tired signs – right before you are in the final steps of your routine.
If you start the routine too early – they may not be ready for sleep.
